Micko Westmoreland - Darkness (closes in)
‘Darkness (Closes In)’ is the first single to be taken from the album ‘Wax & Wayne’ by Micko Westmoreland, the artist formerly known as The Bowling Green. Dance, electro, glitz and film soundtrack combine on the release with remixes by Micko, Boco Moco, Carbone plus the original LP version.
The single and album feature performances from Ed Harcourt, Terry Edwards and some of the most in-demand musicians of the moment including Eno/Dave Holmes collaborator Leo Abrahams, and KT Tunstall’s drummer and former Mescalero Luke Bullen. ‘Darkness (Closes In)’ is the only track on the new album however which features a dance-base groove.
The Boco Moco mix introduces Brazilian soundtrackster Victor Bock to the fold, with a distinctive Latin inflection mixed with a killer bass. Rick Carbone’s mix is a cowboy dub which blasts from an opium den some where south of Croydon. The original version of ‘Darkness’ completes this digital release with the final mix taken from 'Wax & Wayne', the album.
